About Antonio Coe-Redd

My name is Antonio Coe-Redd, son of Deborah Coe-Redd. I am a. two-time, graduate of Howard University. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a Master’s Degree in Education. I was born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Long Beach, California, where I graduated from Long Beach Poly High School. I became a father at the age of 23. After several attempts to establish a stable co-parenting foundation, I was forced into 22 years of court battles about child custody, child support and visitation. As a Black single father, the court system seemed slanted in the favor of the custodial mother, especially when financial resources were scares. The court had to maintain a neutral position, in order to decide in the best interest of the child, and therefore, the court could not give me advice. I also learned that lawyers could not give free advice, absent the risk of liability. After four custody trials and more than one hundred court hearing, in three separate states, for the same child, I gained invaluable knowledge about navigating through the judicial system on matters surrounding child custody, visitation, child support, and contempt. That is the reason I wrote: Memoirs of an American Dad: Courts, Kids, Co-Parenting, a guide to navigate courts for Parenting Rights, Visitation, and Child Support. During my journey, I realized other challenges surrounding the child and the parent such as counseling, parental involvement in school, religion and sports. Sometimes parents can benefit from support groups, as well as social events and activity recommendations while spending time with their child. That is why I developed Co-ParentResources.com, a nationwide resource center for parents. It is my goal to encourage parents to be more reasonable and compromising, during high emotion matters surrounding their child, that may have to be decided by a judge. A child loves both of its parents, and those parents should not be enemies.
